Electronic Delivery, Signature & Payments Consent
This disclosure explains your rights when you choose to do business with us electronically. By clicking "I Agree", checking a box, or using another electronic action we provide, you are consenting to receive certain documents and communications electronically and to sign and accept them electronically. Your consent is voluntary as described below.
1) Scope of Your Consent
When you give consent, you agree that Shield Knot may provide policy, billing, regulatory, and claims‑related information electronically, including (without limitation):
- Policy documents, forms, endorsements, declarations, schedules
- Invoices, notices of premium changes, conditional renewal notices
- Cancellation and non‑renewal notices (to the extent permitted by applicable law)
- State‑required notices and disclosures (e.g., privacy notices)
- Claims communications (e.g., acknowledgments, proofs of loss, explanations of benefits, releases, affidavits), to the extent allowed by law
- Other standard insurance communications
Receiving documents electronically does not change their legal effect. From time to time, laws or state regulations may still require us to send certain items on paper; when that happens, we will mail those items even if you have consented to e‑delivery.
2) How We Deliver Electronic Materials
We may deliver electronic documents by one or more of the following methods:
- Email (content in the message, as an attachment, or via secure links)
- Your secure online account/portal
- Secure file transfer tools
- SMS/text message links (where you've separately opted in)
- Other electronically accepted applications
Please keep your contact information current so we can reach you. See Section 3 to update your details.
3) Updating Your Contact Information & Other Requests
If your email, mobile number, or mailing address changes, please notify us promptly at support@shieldknot.io or 1-888-681-5668. For your security, we may ask for additional information to verify your identity.
4) Electronic Signatures
Your electronic actions—such as clicking "I Agree," checking a box, typing your name, or using a stylus or keypad to sign—constitute your legally binding signature and your intent to be bound by the documents to which those actions apply. No certification authority or third‑party verification is required for enforceability.
5) Hardware & Software Requirements
To receive, view, sign, and retain electronic records, you will need:
- A computer or mobile device with internet access
- A current version of a major web browser (e.g., Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge)
- A program that can open and print PDF files (e.g., Adobe Acrobat Reader)
- An active email account
- Sufficient storage to save documents and a printer if you want paper copies
If these requirements change in a way that creates a material risk that you can't access records, we will notify you and provide instructions on how to continue receiving documents.
6) Applicable Law
This disclosure is provided under, and your electronic signatures and records are valid pursuant to, applicable federal and state law, including the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (ESIGN) and the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA), as adopted by the relevant state.
7) "I Agree" — Your Acknowledgments
By selecting "I Agree" (or taking another electronic action we designate), you consent to electronic records, electronic signatures, and electronic payments in accordance with this disclosure.
By providing electronic consent, you confirm that:
- You can access this disclosure and the electronic documents we send you
- You can print or save these documents for your records
- You consent to receive the documents and communications listed in Section 1 electronically
